1. Who we are

Planet Zoodex ("we", "us", "our") is a fan-made community registry for Planet Zoo 2. It is not affiliated with Frontier Developments or the Planet Zoo franchise. The site is operated privately at planetzoodex.com.

2. What data we collect

When you register an account we collect:

• Your chosen username
• Your email address (used for login and optional notifications)
• A hashed password (we never store plain-text passwords)
• Your IP address at the time of registration (used for moderation and abuse prevention)
• The date and time of registration and last login

When you register animals you provide game-related data (species, colour, stats, etc.). This data is linked to your account.

If you use the private messaging feature, message content is encrypted at rest in our database. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted — site administrators can access content if required for moderation or safety purposes.

We do not collect payment information, phone numbers, or real names.

3. How we use your data

• To authenticate you and secure your account
• To display your registered animals and profile to other users (based on your visibility settings)
• To send you account-related emails if you request them (e.g. password reset)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

4. Cookies & sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies are used. The session cookie is deleted when you log out or close your browser.

5. Data retention

Your account and animal data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us (see section 8). We will action deletion requests within 14 days.

6. Security

Passwords are stored as secure one-way hashes — we cannot read them. Sessions are protected against fixation and regenerated on login. The site runs over HTTPS. Despite our best efforts, no system is perfectly secure — please use a unique password.

7. Children

Planet Zoodex is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account.
